Sam is what Opie wishes he could have been. Opie 2.0
His Sheepishness about using words is incredibly annoying and exhausting. Talking about Diddy "keeping the guys stuff". Fukking hulareeous, sock cucka.
I mostly still listening because I enjoy Troy and Travis, Danielle is quite enjoyable. But it's more fluid conversation than listening to Jim's new show, which is just another interview pod.
Yeah the others are probably the main reason i listen now. I do like how Sam knows a lot about pop culture and weird things. Also that he is into 90s and early 00s
Sam can be funny. There's something about him that can be annoying but overall, I kinda feel like the show has more energy and is actually a little more fun since Yimmy left. I love Jim but he was becoming a crank before he left and not in the old fun way. I think both are better where they are now. Plus Troy, Travie, the legend Montone and even silly vegan cat girl are entertaining.
There is definitely a lot to be desired on the show, but I like Sam’s dynamic with Travis and Troy. I’m especially happy now that Danielle got the permanent position. I was really bummed that she was going to leave again. I think everybody on the show comes off as very comfortable with each other, because they’re friends in real life. Not friends like Anthony and Opie pretended to be.
Sam is very private about his home life, which is fine, some people aren’t willing to do that, but Anthony, more so than Opie, was very open about his childhood and home life, which I loved hearing about, no matter how many times they defaulted back to it on the show because they had no material that day.
Sam is great he just needs the right people around him to balance the energy. The first couple of months were pretty rough but they have definitely found a good dynamic after that especially with balancing the show between Travis, Troy and Danielle. Troy is probably the main one keeping it alive I don’t know if I’d listen without him
